Red Cross First World War POW records now online

A quick announcement to say that the International Red Cross has now added its ICRC Prisoners of the First World War records collection online at http://grandeguerre.icrc.org/.

Lots of good stuff there - I've just found a document on Ruhleben camp in Germany "Visit of Mr. Th. Aubert, S. Horneffer, captain Hjort, P. Nabholz, P. Bonifazi. M. de Muller, J.-B. Micheli to the camps for the Russian prisoners of war in Germany, in Bohemia and in Poland", although it's in French! Lots of individual records also - happy hunting.

And a record for my civilian great uncle John Brownlee Paton who was interned at Ruhleben in 1916:

Lots still to explore....!
